Electrical relay

Electrical relay

So far, we have seen a selection of input devices that can capture or "sense" various physical variables and signals, and therefore are referred to as sensors. However, there are also a variety of electrical and electronic devices that are classed as output devices and used to control or operate an external physical process. These output devices are commonly referred to as actuators.

Current sensing relay

Current sensing relay

The Macromatic CAH05A6AJ is a current detection relay. This encapsulated relay has an input voltage of 12V DC. It monitors for over or under current fault and has an output of 10A SPDT. It is used for alternating current with an adjustable range of 0.5 to 5 A and a tripping delay of 0.15 to 7 seconds. When starting, a delay of 6 seconds occurs. The built-in current transformer provides better access and sensitivity since the wire can be wrapped more than once. The encapsulated housing is recommended for use in harsh conditions. Note: The picture is an approximation. The actual part may differ.

Raspberry pi relay

Raspberry pi relay

A "normal" style relay for turning a single "data" line on and off.

Perfect for Raspberry Pi or Aduino projects. You need 5V to power the relay coil. The input (IN) needs only a few milliamperes between 2.5V and 12V. You can even use the same voltage that supplies the coil.
